What better way to spend your day than out on the lake? Starting in late spring, the snow begins to melt in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The water levels begin to rise as well, which means it’s time to start kayaking! One great place to start your trip is by the South Lake Tahoe flea market on the Upper Truckee River. From here, you can take the river past the airport and all the way down to the lake. Enjoy the California sunshine along with meadow and mountain views along the way for this multi- hour trip down to the lake. Once there, you can explore the amazing Tahoe shorelines.
